Ron Caunt, a talented watercolour artist, is showcasing his work at the Jitterbug Gallery through February. Located on the third floor of the Jitterbug shop on Market Street, Ulverston, this charming venue is a must-visit for anyone seeking inspiration and unique gift ideas.

Ron focuses on recreating both old and new public houses, as well as local scenes. He enjoys the hospitality of local pubs and eateries which he finds inspirational. His paintings often evoke a sense of nostalgia, particularly his depictions of the Rollo Run in Barrow, which have sparked lively conversations at various events.

In his guest appearance at Ulverston, Ron is displaying a special piece featuring Hartley's Brewery. Living in Ulverston with his wife Judith, he has a deep understanding of the local history, which enriches his artwork.

Ron's Contributions to the Barrow Society of Artists

Ron has been a dedicated member of the Barrow Society of Artists for many years. Before I took on the role of Chair, he served as the Chair of the Committee. His experience is invaluable, and he continues to provide guidance as a committee member.

This year, Ron, along with other committee members and his wife Judith (the Society's Treasurer), has worked tirelessly to ensure that our members have events and programmes that align with their aspirations. A huge thank you to Ron and the rest of the Committee for their volunteer efforts! They play a crucial role in keeping the Society vibrant and active.
