Established in 1953
Barrow Society of Artists is a membership based not for profit community of local artists.
We aim to: hold regular meetings for talks, demonstrations and workshops. We host a yearly exhibition to showcase our Artists work.
And we create and attend events that are of interest to artists and art lovers alike.
Artists teaching Artists to develop and improve has been our aim since 1953.

Demonstrations & Workshops
Usually held on the first Monday of each month.
We hold demonstrations and workshops which are free to members each month. Usually this is on the first Monday of every month but check out the Events page or our face book page for up to date information.
Sometimes we add an extra one in or change an event or the date.
We explore different art practices each month from traditional painting to digital art. We also try other art techniques such as pottery, print making and glass art techniques.

Life Drawing Classes
On the third Friday of the month we have life drawing classes. These are untaught classes so you can develop at your own pace with your own favourite mediums.
There is a fee of £5 to attend which covers costs for the models and the hall rental. Members can bring a guest as it is open to non members to attend also.
Hope to see you there!
Exhibitions, Extra Events and Popup Events
We have a yearly exhibition to showcase our members work. This year it was at the Dock Museum. We also attended Art in the Park.
We also attended Extra Events and plan to put on some Pop Up Event so keep up to date by reading our latest Blogs and adding our Facebook page to your friends list.
